The Grisly Animated Movie Conclusion That Stays With Viewers

Among all the mature cartoon movies I’ve personally viewed, no other has stuck with me as much as the dread-soaked conclusion of the graphically gory and highly provocative 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

In 2015’s, this Spanish filmmaker created a grim, bleak and frequently brutal world that included some tiny , desolate twinges of hope.

Although The Unicorn Wars appears as it originated from a desire to push the medium even more, the filmmaker stated that it was actually an attempt to express a universal, multicultural theme regarding “the mutual source of all wars.”

That message is conveyed via a band of vividly colored bears , clearly inspired by a popular series of lovable characters.

Being raised in a culture built around aggression and the defense industry, a lot of the bears are fixated on exterminating the mythical beasts, due to a holy book which states the bears they used to be rulers of the woodland, before these creatures forced them out.

Others have not completely accepted the propaganda, , prefer to experiment with narcotics or fornicate in the forest.

Unlike their cuddly counterparts, these vivid animals display sexual organs , clear urges.

For one notably brutal, skeptical animal, Bluey, the war against unicorns turns into a road to control — and specifically to dominance above his gentler, kinder brother the bear Tubby.

Bluey behaves aggressively and an obvious psychopath , and as horror dominates his group and claims his fellow soldiers individually, he seizes more and more influence personally, through ever more bloody, destructive ways.

Simultaneously, the unicorns are experiencing their own nightmare, in the form of a growing, harmful creature in their habitat.

“At the beginning, it appears as a lighthearted film,” the director commented. “But then it becomes a more dramatic and sad film. And in the finale, it becomes a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars starts out resembling among the whimsical movies from an iconic filmmaker, which find a naughty glee in letting cartoon characters curse, shoot each other, or sex each other up.

Afterward it evolves into something more like a more grim film from the same artist, including ever more visual gore and a tangible link to the real horror of war.

Ultimately, it becomes a full-on Grand Guignol massacre.

The fear that turns this a perfect Halloween viewing kicks in a lot earlier than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the most dedicated fans of gore, for enthusiasts of intense movies who wish to see a film they have not viewed until now, and can endure a narrative that offers no restraint.

Watch it in a dimly lit space free from interruptions, and that ending will dig into your mind and stay with you.
