New information has come to light regarding the untimely deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

A Alarm

According to a report quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the house. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not identify him as a suspect at that moment.

Furthermore disputed published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement also extends to reports of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source stated they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
