Brian Eno Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.
A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The effort aims to send support to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Possibility for Support and an "Unlikely Coup"
Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”
Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Featured Artists
The track was produced after a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.
The notable list of performers appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was brought to life by a team of talented individuals. The single blends a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.
The team running the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.
“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”
The situation in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.
“Against that backdrop, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and showing there’s another side to the story.”
The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a digital service from the 19th of December.
